_(*)_塔是佛教的一个特式建筑物，通常用以收藏佛教的珍宝．在尼瓜拉瓜瀑布市内的万佛宝塔便是性空法师於1976年到访该市时第一次构思出来的一幢建筑物．工程在1995年开始歷六年完竣．佛塔的开光仪式是在2001年的七月一日，為此，每年的这一天万佛塔也会举行特别法会来庆祝週年纪念．
在中国的文化里，万这数字多谓眾多或无限之意．因此，万佛便是顾名思义用来提醒我们眾生皆有佛性．假若我们能够净化我们的思惟，开悟之期指日可待！
随著湛山精舍，万佛宝塔也是源於佛教的天台宗．这一宗是多从事思考，关健性和有条理来了解佛陀的教化，妙法莲华经有详尽的解释．

AND WHEN
THEY ARE WITHIN THE WORLD,
IT'S HARD FOR THEM TO SPEAK THIS DHARMA;
THROUGHOUT LIMITLESS, COUNTLESS AGES,
HARD, TOO, THIS DHARMA IS TO HEAR.
AND THOSE WHO CAN HEAR THIS DHARMA--
SUCH PERSONS, TOO, ARE ALSO RARE.
LIKE THE UDUMBARA FLOWER,
IN WHICH ALL TAKE DELIGHT,
AND WHICH THE GODS AND HUMANS PRIZE,
BLOOMS BUT ONCE IN A LONG, LONG TIME,
SO ONE WHO HEARS THIS DHARMA, GIVES JOYFUL PRAISE,
WITH EVEN JUST A SINGLE WORD,
HAS THEREBY ALREADY MADE OFFERINGS
TO ALL BUDDHAS IN THE THREE PERIODS OF TIME.
SUCH PERSONS ARE EXTREMELY RARE--
RARER THAN THE UDUMBARA.
IT'S HARD FOR THEM TO SPEAK THIS DHARMA;
